Ellingsen Construction is a multi-generational, family-owned construction company proudly serving Bainbridge Island and the surrounding areas since 1962. Founded by Vic Ellingsen, the company is built on a legacy of craftsmanship, integrity, and a passion for turning ideas into lasting structures.

Vic got his start commuting from Bainbridge to Seattle to work in a cabinet shop, where he discovered a love for fine craftsmanship and the building process. That passion led him to begin building and remodeling homes across Bainbridge Island, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong career in construction.

In the 1980s, Vic expanded his work by building Jungle Jim’s restaurants in Seattle, which eventually led him to Florida, where he continued building restaurants for several years. Meanwhile, his son Ron Ellingsen stayed on Bainbridge and spent nearly a decade with Fairbank Construction, honing his skills and gaining experience on a wide range of residential and commercial projects.

Ron later re-established the Ellingsen Construction brand, with Vic returning to work alongside him until his passing—a testament to their shared passion for building. From the mid-1990s through 2015, Ron led the company into a new era—growing the team and taking on larger custom homes and commercial projects, while maintaining the core values of quality and personal service.

In 2015, Ron’s son Tanner Ellingsen joined the company, marking the beginning of the third generation. Today, under Tanner’s leadership, Ellingsen Construction specializes in high-end residential new construction, custom remodels, and select light commercial work. Known for our hands-on approach and dedication to detail, we thrive on unique and challenging projects that transform the vision of architects and clients into enduring, beautiful spaces.
